Master craftsman with a passion for extraordinary design, Steve leads BriteObjects’
product development efforts.
Prior to BriteObject, Steve cofounded non·object. Master craftsman with a passion for
extraordinary design, Steve leads non·object's product development efforts. Prior to
non·object, Steve was a senior Industrial Designer at IDEO, the world's leading design
consulting firm. While at IDEO, Steve led the design of several successful products including
the Cisco 7900 family of VoIP phones, Hoover Z-fold vacuum, Vocera Communications
Badge, Advanced Bionics Auria, and many others.
Steve's experience as a lead designer at IDEO has enabled him to develop products
that go far beyond user needs and aggressive engineering requirements; Steve's designs
consistently evoke emotion, surprise, delight. Steve has designed products across a wide range of industries including consumer
electronics, high-tech, furniture, medical equipment, and home appliances. Steve holds
20 patents and has won numerous product awards including IDEA Gold, Silver, red dot,
ID Magazine, Neocon Silver.
When Steve is able to break away from brainstorming the next big idea, he enjoys
hanging out with his three children and dreaming about carving clean lines through
deep powder with his wife Susan somewhere in the high Sierras.
Steve earned a B.S. in Psychology from University of California at Berkeley, and a B.S.
with honors in Industrial Design from the Art Center College of Design in Pasadena,
California.
